The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the statutory body dedicated to promoting Hong Kong’s businesses globally, has announced four major technology exhibitions set to take place in Hong Kong in April 2025. These events aim to strengthen business ties between the UAE and Hong Kong, offering UAE traders and suppliers a platform to explore new markets and cutting-edge innovations.
The UAE and Hong Kong share a robust trade relationship, with bilateral trade reaching USD 14.8 billion as of November 2024. The UAE is Hong Kong’s sixth-largest export market, with exports totaling USD 11.2 billion, and its 17th-largest import source, contributing USD 3.5 billion in imports. The upcoming exhibitions will provide UAE businesses with direct access to emerging global trends and international buyers.
Mr. Daniel Lam, Regional Director for the Middle East & Africa at HKTDC, stated, “The UAE is one of our strongest bilateral trading partners, and we are confident these ties will grow even stronger. We invite UAE corporations to explore global business opportunities through HKTDC’s exhibitions.”
He added, “In 2023/24, we organized over 30 major events, attracting more than 28,880 exhibitors and 511,100 buyers and participants from Hong Kong, Mainland China, and around the world. These exhibitions will enable UAE businesses to connect with global suppliers, discover the latest industry advancements, and access new sourcing solutions.”

Lighting Sector:
- Smart Lighting Expo and Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Spring Edition)

The fairs will also host the Asian Lighting Forum on April 6, focusing on market standards and ESG developments, and the Smart Lighting Solution Forum on April 7, exploring innovations in intelligent lighting applications for commercial and residential settings. In 2024, these events attracted approximately 16,000 buyers from 107 countries and regions.

The Hong Kong Electronics Fair will showcase innovations across zones such as the Tech Hall, Start-up Zone, and Hall of Fame, with a focus on Smart Home, Healthcare & Wellness, and Design Electronics.
In 2024, InnoEX and the Hong Kong Electronics Fair drew over 88,000 buyers from 139 countries and regions, underscoring their global significance.
These exhibitions aim to foster stronger business connections between the UAE and Hong Kong, providing UAE companies with unparalleled opportunities to expand their global footprint and stay ahead in the rapidly evolving tech and lighting industries.
