Christmas holds a special place in South India, where the festive season is celebrated with great enthusiasm. With a significant Christian population, South India’s Christmas traditions blend rich cultural influences, from grand church services to lively family gatherings, and, of course, a feast that reflects the region’s diverse culinary heritage. The ‘Southern Spice Christmas Feast’ at Bombay Borough celebrates the festive flavours of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka, with a progressive twist on traditional Christmas dishes. This 7-course feast offers both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, providing a unique culinary journey through the southern states of India.

Guests can start with an amuse-bouche of crispy Lentil Vada with Bird Eye Chili Salsa, followed by small plates such as Panko-Crusted Tenderloin Croquettes, Jackfruit Croquettes, and Tempura Pazham Pori (plantains from Kerala with spicy curry reduction). Soups include Tender Coconut Ceviche and Coconut Consommé, while a Honey Roasted Butternut Squash salad adds a seasonal touch. For the grills, diners can choose from Charcoal-Bafat Seabass Roast, Charcoal-Bafat Paneer Roast, Nasrani Lamb Chops, or Nasrani Sweet Potatoes with spiced sweet potato mash.

A refreshing Guntur Cranberry Sorbet serves as a palate cleanser before the main course. Meat lovers can enjoy a coconut-infused Chicken Stew & Appam or an 8-hour roasted Kandari & Green Peppercorn Roast Turkey, while vegetarians can opt for Vegetable Stew & Appam or a creamy Wild Mushroom Roast & Parotta. Rice dishes include Kerala-style King Fish Pouch Biryani with Prawn Fry, Malabar-style Chicken Pouch Biryani with Thattukada Chicken Fry, or a Vegetarian Kerala-style Pouch Veggie Biryani with Nadan Potato Fry, all served in banana leaves.

Desserts include Plum Cake Flambé with eggnog custard, Baked Payasam with Payasam gelato, vermicelli crunch, and jaggery meringue, or a selection of Petit Fours. An optional beverage package is available for AED 175 per person. In addition to the festive feast, Bombay Borough offers a curated selection of holiday-inspired drinks to complement the Southern Spice Christmas Feast. Signature cocktails include the Cinnamon Sour, a warm and tangy blend of whisky, homemade cinnamon cordial, and lime, perfect for the season, and the Fireside Old Fashioned, featuring banana-infused bourbon, spiced cordial, and bitters for a smooth, aromatic finish.

This curated Christmas experience brings a fresh and festive spin to classic South Indian dishes, offering a memorable dining experience full of flavour, creativity, and warmth—a perfect way to celebrate the holidays with family and friends.
