Ras Al Khaimah – The world of mountain climbing unfolds for daring adventurers as The Bear Grylls Explorers Camp (BGEC) launches its eagerly awaited attraction, the Via Ferrata, at the breathtaking Jebel Jais Mountain on Saturday, January 13th.
This exhilarating experience is open to adventurers aged 14 and above, seeking an extra challenge. Participants will conquer a 120-meter elevated mountain along a 3km route, requiring approximately 4 hours to complete. The Via Ferrata provides mountaineers with the unique opportunity to scale a captivating section of the protected rugged Hajar Mountain range.
Via Ferrata, translating to “iron path” in Italian, utilizes steel cables and safety equipment to guide adventurers through a thrilling course that includes a Burma bridge, ziplines, and challenging vertical climbs. The 120-meter elevation offers breathtaking views, showcasing the beauty and ruggedness of Ras Al Khaimah’s landscape, delivering an unparalleled experience for outdoor enthusiasts.
The course incorporates mountain routes of hiking, ladders connecting with a Burma bridge, and two ziplines measuring 60 meters and 280 meters, respectively. Designed for individuals weighing between 40kg and 110kg, with a minimum height of 125cm, the approximately 4-hour experience demands good physical fitness and flexibility. Participants who successfully complete the adventure will be awarded a certificate of achievement.
